Election 2010: Altschuler Hopes To Unseat Incumbent, Balance the Budget


Randy Altschuler: “I have lived the American dream, but I’m worried about changes that are happening in this country that are going to prevent future generations from achieving that dream.”

His solution is to prop up the private sector by cutting government spending, lowering taxes and peeling back “red tape” that he contends makes it difficult for businesses to operate.

Tim Bishop is not voting with the people of this district. He's voting with his party. Hence his 97 percent voting rate with Nancy Pelosi. He has supported a slew of legislation that is not in the best interest of the district."

Altschuler’s spot slams his Democratic opponent, Rep. Tim Bishop, for voting “125 times to raise taxes.”

Randy Altschuler finished by stating he could document the 125 votes Mr. Bishop had made to raise taxes and said he stood for change in Washington, to help business, and keep money here rather than "pay for programs we can't afford." 

"If you want to continue the policies of the Obama and Pelosi administration -- if you want Obamacare, cap and trade, car check and further bailouts then you should vote for Tim Bishop." The loud applause and cheers of many in the room indicated that they planned to do that.

Tim Bishop is coming under fire from his constituents for his votes on cap-and-trade, obamacare, and more.  Randy Altschuler’s spokesman, Rob Ryan, said he sees signs of concern, even “desperation,” in some of Representative Tim Bishop’s advertisements. The congressman, he said, has shied away from identifying himself as an incumbent or a Democrat, or even mentioning that he is running for his fifth term.

Randy Altschuler, the independent, self-made businessman and Republican/Conservative nominee for Congress (NY-1), was endorsed today by Chris Christie, the tax cutting and reform minded Republican Governor of New Jersey. Governor Christie was swept into office last November by a coalition of Republicans, Independents, conservative Democrats and members of the Tea Party who were tired of the high taxes and culture of corruption that has enveloped state government in New Jersey for many years.
